I have been making art quilts for more than 25 years, and continue to explore the boundaries for creating new art through textiles. The infinite possibilities of playing with fabrics and threads to create image and texture continuously excites me. My quilt art takes a mixed media, 3-D approach through the quilting and surface embellishment from heavy, free-motion machine quilting, hand-embroidery and beading, to attaching found objects. My quilted designs hang from found or self-made wooden, iron, ceramic or other materials--further adding to the design and for final framing of the art for hanging on the wall.
As "treasure" hunting has always been a passion of mine, this has led to the creation of yard art--or art for the garden...Thus, as I continue to play with fiber, I am now creating fun and functional, mixed media pieces for the garden!
