HOW I DISPLAY MY ART-INDOOR & OUTDOOR, UNDER A TENT

I am often asked how I display my quilt art in offering it for sale...
As this is art for the wall, I display on artist easels, with
foam core boards attached to the easels--then my art
is hung directly on the foam core board as a backdrop--
with the same idea of hanging it directly on a wall,
as any painting would be hung. An example is below,
with this being an indoor venue--but I display exactly the
same when at an outdoor venue, under my artist tent.

Huntsville Housing Developement Reception

Photos taken at the reception for those attending the
Huntsville Housing Developments, Inc. Seminar...
one of Huntsville's local florist, Glenn's, designed a
"neighborhood" for my "houses"!
It was incredibly beautiful, with real grass, trees,
flowers, fences, gates, butterflies and more.
I was so impressed with the display!!!
(See individual "houses" below)

"WHAT MAKES A HOUSE A HOME..." Series

"An Investment in Family...
An Investment in Community...
The Good Business of Affordable Housing..."
A seminar of affordable housing is being presented
in Huntsville by the Huntsville Housing Developments, Inc.,
on Thursday and Friday, February 7-8, 2008.
I was honored with a commission of my "House" series,
that will be the centerpiece of the reception room,
with the individual "houses" being presented
as gifts to the guest speakers of the seminar by HHD.
Again, I am so honored to have my art chosen
as a representational theme in support
of such an important project for Huntsville
in strenghtening families and our community.

The Process-Completed

The completed quilt from the process posted below...
I chose to mount this quilt onto a
stretched, painted canvas...
the 3 "found" ceramic leaves were simply
glued onto the canvas, with the quilt stitched onto it.
A continuation in my series of
"wine" theme quilts...

Beaded Bottles

I find my "bottle tree" art a little like my
"quilt art"...I embellish for a certain "uniqueness"
and "individualism"...and sometimes I must evaluate
how much is ENOUGH, and make myself STOP!!!...
I've collected sooooooooo many beads, pieces of jewelry,
and other found pieces that do find their way to my
quilt art--and now, finding their way to
embellish the bottles on my bottle tree!!!...
I already can hear the breezes causing the "dangling"
beads to gently "clink" against the bottles...
Not just another bottle tree!!!...a gentle sounding
"windchime"!!!!!!!!

RESCUING "ART"

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...
One must often take a diversion and seek out other forms of art for inspiration!!!
As I continue creating a "bottle tree" forest, I've "rescued" as many Christmas trees as possible!!! I trimmed all branches, then secured the tree in a "found" Christmas tree stand (which I painted up a bit to add color--did I mention I love color?!), and finally added the bottles--wine bottles, beer bottles, "found" other bottles! Oh What Fun!!! and even more fun supplying the bottles, especially those WINE BOTTLES!!!!!!!!!!

New Work

"My Gift...Your Gift..."
5"X7"
Mixed Media Collage
(in Private Collection) Inspired by songs which were sung to me, and the music of a guitar, I used the traditional 9-patch theme in an improvisational presentation of my feelings.
